v5.0 Release Notes: Toro AI Assistant

This release delivers meaningful improvements to the Toro Chat experience, with a focus on document handling, search accuracy, and overall reliability. Clients working with large research documents and multi-source comparisons will notice faster, more consistent results.

Improvements & Fixes

This release also addresses several reliability and accuracy improvements based on user feedback:

Enhanced Large Document Comparison

Toro more reliably processes and compares very large documents — including 100+ page PDFs — without losing context across multiple attachments. Users researching across lengthy reports will find that all relevant materials are fully considered when generating responses.

Faster Search Response Times

Search queries now complete more efficiently. The system previously performed unnecessary extended lookups even after locating the right documents. Toro now stops searching as soon as the necessary information is found, resulting in noticeably faster responses.

Improved Multi-Document Search Accuracy

Search results now return a better-balanced selection of relevant documents. Previously, a single highly-matched document could dominate the result set, crowding out other relevant sources. This fix ensures broader and more useful document coverage in responses.

Reliable Context Retention in Focus Mode

The Focus tool now consistently maintains the selected notes and entities throughout a session. When expanding results with "Show More", Toro correctly retains the original document selection and continues to answer within the intended scope.

Accurate Inline Citations

Inline citations within generated responses now display correctly. A rendering issue that caused placeholder text to appear in place of source references has been resolved.

Resolved Loading Delays in Toro Chat

An intermittent issue that caused Toro Chat to appear stuck while processing a query has been resolved. Sessions will now progress smoothly through all steps without unexpected pauses.
